Great production from one of the biggest names of the year in tech house Marco Lys. Very techy with some tribal vocals thrown in there, some great breakdowns leading to even better drops that would be sure to get heads bopping.
Awesome remix here of a big chart hit from UK producer Funkagenda. This is the kind of track you'd hear Funkagenda hammering out at peak time in the main room of a superclub, so if you're feeling a little under the weather or hungover, this isn't the track for you.. But for me right now, it's quality!
I love this.. Pioneer of techno Moby remixed by the absolute best of the best when it comes to Tech house in 2011, Joris Voorn. A great techy remix which when I listen to, I can't help but feel happy. Really, really enjoyable song.
I already posted the original of this the other day, but simply had to post this remix. In the last few months I've become a huge fan of Carl Cox, downloading a lot of his mixes and stuff. He's more known as a DJ than a producer, but when he does release tracks they never disappoint. Teaming up with Jon Rundell on this one to remix Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr's new track, they have produced an absolute banger of a remix. Can't get enough of it!
Don't think this is one of Gramophonedzie's strongest releases, after the success of his tracks 'Out Of My Head' and 'Yeah Yeah' but still, it's groovy, it's funky and it's everything you expect to come out of this producer.
I've always got a lot of love for big tech house with big bass, and this is no exception. Whoever said tech couldn't be chunky at the same time? This reminds me of Summer nights playing an obscene amount of tech house and techno at 5 in the morning to a load of drunk tourists. I miss it!
Really interesting track! The melody in the breakdown is almost a cheesy melody you'd hear in a euro dance track from the late 90's, but that awesome build up to that typical progressive drop with that funky bassline makes this track far from cheesy!
So.. Saturday night I went to Ministry of Sound in London (voted 2nd best club in UK 2011) and I wasn't disappointed. Kinky Malinki were hosting their annual Christmas party and the line up they had was perfect for me. Bingo Players, one of my favourite acts of this year, headlined along with Funkerman and Prok & Fitch. Funkerman played an awesome set, a very energetic techy mix. I even managed to bump into Funkerman after his set on the way to the bar for a quick chat, really top bloke! Bingo Players were next and smashed the back out of it playing some of their biggest tracks and remixes of this year. A lot more techy with Prok & Fitch, which although was enjoyable, struggled to match the high energy sets from Funkerman and Bingo Players. Their smaller dancefloors also didn't let down, with there being plenty of Tech and Funky house throughout the 4 rooms at MoS. Overall it really is a great club, playing unbeatable music and providing London with the best nights
Yet another remix of David Guetta's smash hit "Titanium", everyone seems to be buzzin' about the Alesso remix but personally I dont think Arno hasn't been given enough credit for this, I think it shits all over Alesso's version. Can't wait to play it live! 4.5/5!
Have to admit I was really looking forward to the release of this track it looked very promising from the trailer, however gotta say im not really a fan, think the track drags on too much and has an awesome build up then is let down by the drop. Sorry Bingo Players! 3.5/5
100% in love and obsessed with this track from Michael Calfan and Axwell. Its not only topped it's category's chart, but also currently stands at a well deserved overall No1 on Beatport. Its a great comeback from Axwell, was starting to think he wasnt anything special without his buddies from SHM! Definately this years biggest floorfiller in my opinion, let me know what you guys think!
On 31st December 2011, Defected Records takes over Proud2 at the
world-famous O2 in London for its FIRST ever New Year’s Eve Party in the
capital. Boasting a line-up that presents house music in all its myriad forms under one roof, if house is your thing, then this is the only place to see in 2012.
Now I don't know if it's just these bass-enhancing headphones but I am loving the grooving bass in this. Works so well alongside that recognisable guitar riff and funky beat. Perfect bassline = Top tune!
Cool little track from dance music giant Fatboy Slim along with Riva Starr and Beardyman, sounding a little like Major Lazer in some places, and recreating the sound of Black Legend's 'You See The Trouble With Me'. Some choppy vocals in there to make things a little fun, and overall a really funky track. Maybe lacking a bit on the bass but I think that's what they were aiming for. Liking it!
If you like this, you'll LOVE the techno Carl Cox & Jon Rundell remix found here! So good!
Sound familiar? Of course! This remake of a house classic (Salsoul Nugget) keeps very much to the style of the original, such an awesome melody and the vocals are perfect. Great little house tune!
Not sure if this is classed as tech house or techno.. either way it's fucking awesome! Such a great heavy bass that I could imagine going down so well in any sort of club or festival environment. Some interesting noises and fx throughout it must be said! I do like tech house/techno with a heavy bass, and this track certainly delivers. Move over Carl Cox, Carlo Lio's in the house!
5 star alert! Wow.. Amazing. I am usually really picky about my tech house, but this incredibly unique and different take on it just works so well. It's so unique I'm actually finding it really hard to critique or describe it in any way. The eery vocals in the build up along with some interesting drum patterns, and that rising noise building up to the awesome drop where some kind of muted guitar comes in with the techy beat? You only have to read the shocking description in that last sentence to see how unique and original this track is. Great album artwork as well. I look forward to listening some more of &ME's tracks.
It's techy, it's funky, it's great. Quite a few tracks to come out of Doomwork recently have been very melodic, but this one sticks to exactly what tech house should be! A great simple vocal loop and pulsating synth alongside some interesting drums build up to an awesome funky tech beat. Great work from Doomwork.
Yes! I am loving the Disco House today. New skool meets old skool.. and bloody hell does it work. Such a groovy new skool bass throughout, and the addition of the marima or whatever it is just works so well. Not to keen on the vocals, but it's made up for with the keys throughout the build up. Love this.
I have absolutely loved Crazibiza's material this year. Their remix of Mike Newman & The Viron's 'Lady' was probably my favourite track of the Summer, along with their original take on 'Sunshine Day' and their new track with Kevin Prise 'Reach Out', the first song to be featured with 5 stars here on Oosh!
Now this track, released back at the end of October, is a house take on legendary disco track 'Play That Funky Music'. I may not be the best to rate this song because of my sheer hatred of
the original 70s original, but I definately think that Crazibiza have
had some stronger releases than this one. Nevertheless, it certainly keeps in with their typical funky energetic beats and makes a great track to party to.
Woahhhh this is great. Heavy chunky funky techy disco, with some catchy robotic vocals, and even some progressive pads thrown in there. Awesome way to start maybe my favourite day of the week, simply because it's Disco House day ;)
Wow. I listened to the original, and while not really my kind of music, I thought it was quite catchy. And then, I heard this. I wanted to put this in the house category because I loved it so much. Such a hypnotic and funky electro house tune, and currently sweeping the electronic music world. I've listened to a couple of other Botnek remixes and they seem to do the same thing with all productions, transform Electro and Fidget tracks into a really funky techy production, still keeping many Electro elements. Big up to Botnek for this remix.. Oh and Hummus is probably my all time favourite food which just adds to why I love this song so much.
I hope you had a good Friday night. I'm glad we can now ditch the Commercial House and move onto some Electro House. Today I'm having a look at the new C
Ok so I'm trying to take a really neutral view on this track.. When I hear Electro House I like chunky beats and groovy basslines. This, for me, is Electro-Progressive Dirty-Dutch Dubstep. It seems Chuckie has got pretty much every genre he is used to producing and chucked it into a blender, alongside my pet-hate: Dubstep.
I should hate this track, but for some reason I don't. The heavy, grinding, dubstep-style synth lead is something I thought would never grow on me but the more I listen to it, the more I realise this is actually a very clever production. The progressive build up along with the vocals will definately make crowds go crazy around the globe.
(beware serious flashing images in this video, we fucking love it)
Now this is good.. STADIUM Electro! Many people would say this is Progressive but when you have a chunky synth that heavy you can't take it away from the Electro category. I can imagine this going down a treat in front of tens of thousands of people. Absolutely awesome acid-house synth lead throughout this track, building up to the immense electro-progressive drop sure to make the crowd go mental.
Avicii takes on Etta James, Flo Rida takes on Avicii and now Bingo Players take on Flo Rida. I think I've caught up, but still not sure on this. Usually love BP's stuff but this one seems to be lacking something, giving us a really simple kick drum beat and with no real bass in there. On the upside, the progressive house melody is pretty catchy. It just seems a hell of a lot more boring than Levels..
Serious guilty pleasure alert! Shocking video, shocking original song, shocking rapping/shouting from Fatman Scoop, shocking singing from Claudia (who?) but there's something about this remix I can't help but enjoy. The catchy melody from Spencer & Hill I think makes this song just that slight bit enjoyable. I almost put this in the Progressive House category, but then stuck my sensible head on and decided if I heard this in a club I wouldn't be impressed. On the positive side, it's at 76 in the Progressive House charts on Beatport so I can't be the only person with this attitude.
